This LDR sensor detects how bright or dark it is around it and sends the reading to your Arduino or other microcontroller. Its resistance drops in bright light and rises in the dark, and the board turns that change into a signal your code can read.
It is a simple module for automatic street lights, a dark-activated night lamp, a light meter, a solar tracker, or a day and night indicator. The board gives both analog and digital output, so you can read the light level or simply get a yes or no signal. A small knob lets you set the brightness at which the output switches. An onboard LED shows the output state. It is easy to wire and a good first project for beginners.
